Renewable Energy Information: Ocean Energy

Renewable Energy, Tidal energyThe global winds and the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on the earth create ocean waves and tides, which can also be harnessed to provide energy. Also, the temperature difference between the warmer surface and colder depths of the ocean can be used as an energy source.

Because many ocean energy technologies are less mature than other renewable energy sources, and are still in development and undergoing testing, the Energy Finder does not emphasize them.
